CHRIS COX CELEBRITY CUTTING CELEBRATES COURAGE
For horse enthusiasts looking for great family fun,
attendees of the Pacific Coast Cutting Derby were
hosted and entertained by nationally acclaimed horse
clinician, Chris Cox. Along with the Pacific Coast
Association, Chris held a special horse clinic and
celebrity cutting demonstration to raise funds for
Western Wishes and rewarding the fighting spirit of
two exceptional kids. Along with highlighting the
sport of cutting, Chris put on a live demonstration
of how to handle a real problem horse.
Singer-composer Bernie Taupin, responsible for a
majority of Elton John’s classic hits, a cutting
horse competitor, and former owner of the PBR
bucking bull of the year, Little Yellow Jacket,
humbly attended the charity event to support Western
Wishes. Along with stuntman and producer, Billy
Burton, actor Steve Ford (son of former President
Gerald Ford) and Miss Rodeo California, Ashley
Hoffman, the celebrities proved, along with Chris
Cox, that they had hearts bigger than their names.
But the real celebrities….the true heroes, were two
California high school rodeo kids displaying unusual
courage and focus. Rachael M. and Matt P. are example a fighting spirit and
determination to get “back in the saddle again”, and
beat the odds. Chris Cox dedicated the event to
these amazing kids battling cancer who possess a
fierce competitive spirit to get through a tough
time.

PCCHA president, Phil Benedum, along with Chris Cox
tour director, Katy Nichols, and PR director for the
PCCHA, Sherry Forest, did an exceptional job of
bringing this special event to Paso Robles.

inspiring show will air.
“We are thrilled with the alliance between Western
Wishes and the Pacific Coast Cutting Horse
Association, and will be eternally grateful for
Chris Cox’s continued support for Western Wishes,”
said president/founder, Donnalyn Quintana (pictured here
with Chris Cox).

Thanks Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association for
setting the stage and showing that these kids not
only are fierce competitors in rodeo, like Lane
Frost, but also in the arena of life!
